Hi there, I’m Angus.
Originally from Harrogate, North Yorkshire, home of Betty’s Tea Room and Harrogate Spa Water, I now live in Edinburgh, home of, well, too much to say in a pithy paragraph.
With one of the most Scottish names but an English accent, I’ll forgive you if you were a wee bit confused. Don’t worry, I get it all the time.
I’m a voice actor with a love of bringing characters to life, while also bringing a trusting and genuine voice to your script.
I’ve trained with the great Tanya Rich and her team at Rich Craft. Each coach having decades of experience, they’ve helped hone my voice and how to read scripts and find the nuance of the script.
Having a 2:1 Undergrad degree in Drama and Theatre Studies from Hull University, I know how to dissect scripts, find nuance in the writing and bring characters to life. I did modules in radio drama and script editing and in my spare time you would find me in the purpose built voice studio making my own radio dramas and narrating audiobooks.
I spent five years as a freelance script writer in TV and film and some of my scripts either won or were shortlisted in major competitions.
That’s enough about me, tell me about you and your script.
How do I work with you?
Listen to my demos and if you like what you hear you can send me an email and we can take it from there.
Please explain your project, what you’re looking for and if you have a sample script, then I can record a section of it for free.
If you think I’m the voice for your project, I will send you my contract which goes into detail about usage, rights and terms and conditions. If you’re in agreement, please sign it, send it back and we’re off to the races.
Please be aware that the signing of the contract is non-negotiable before any project can commence.
What format can you deliver my audio in?
High quality Mp3 or Wav, depending on what you need. If you need another quality, please let me know.
What is your Basic Studio Fee? (BSF)
All my rates are negotiable based on the project but a BSF isn't charged for all work though, things like commercials, explainers, corporate narration and so on will be charged using a BSF, but some long form narration, and e-learning, might be charged using a per word or per minute fee.
What is usage?
All voiceover quotes will provide both a BSF and usage fee. The usage will be determined based on how wide reaching the voice is going to be, for example a national tv commercial will have wider reach than a local radio advert.
Usage is calculated for a set period of time and allows the provider of the voice over to use my voice for their intended project for that time.
Do you provide revisions or re-takes?
All contracts receive one free round of revisions. This mean correcting tone, pacing, mispronunciations or anything specific that'd you'd like to alter. Any script alterations that are made post the initial recording can be re-recorded, but are subject to additional charges.
How do I pay for my recordings?
Once you’ve successfully received your files, and have confirmed that you're satisfied, I'll send you an invoice.
My payment terms for repeat clients are 30 days.
For new clients I kindly ask for 50% of the total agreed fee in advance of recording, and the remaining 50% balance prior to delivery of the final files.
